Brian's current focus is in the loosely defined field of brain-based robots, biorobotics and cognitive robotics. Current project include a robotic hand, a swimming robot, a volleyball-playing robot and other research projects at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).

Brian has dual BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech).
